A multi-residential development in one of Melbourne’s most coveted leafy locales. Consisting of four, contemporary architecturally designed homes with orientation of all living areas to the north and taking full advantage of the abundant landscaping and tree tops, Belgravia was a clever and considered response to the environment.
The residences provide a strong diagrammatic response to planning, influenced by the Miesian principles of walls, planes and fluid space. These ideas express themselves in the design through the combination of granite walls, timber screens and marble plinths.
Inspired by the spirit of the Barcelona Pavilion, the entry announces itself through the expression of a textured granite wall that starts its journey as a landscape element then becomes the back drop to the entry foyer and beyond.
The resultant form of these elements are homes in which light and space abound.
